In between

The sky is pink, the air heavy. People are moving around slowly over the gravel filled yard. Their eyes look above the high fence, not far away on the other side lays Burma, the country they left in hopes of a better future. The military dictatorship limits people’s chances to make a living, to survive, it silences voices and forces its inhabitants to a life in the shadow. Many people end up as illegal refugees in neighboring countries, like Thailand. Here the live their life’s in between. When darkness falls many can move freer, others stay behind the fence. Along the border a resistance movement towards the government has grown strong, here live many who have fled the military dictatorships progress. Living life- in between.
